Small Groups
While both the large group experience (such as joint worship) and the small group experience (such as a Sunday School class) have their places in the life of a congregation, the larger the church the more important the small group experience can become. For example, small groups can create opportunities for connectedness; they can dissolve anonymity; they can provide a healthy environment for accountability; they can draw out our spiritual giftedness; and they can motivate individuals toward maturity and can help them find their ministry in the church body. Whether the groups are organized to help you to find your ministry in the
church, for Bible study, to provide spiritual resources and assistance for the development of your Christian life, to support others through difficult and trying circumstances, to participate in community service events, or to help seekers find faith in Jesus Christ, the small group experience can help to mature a believer in Christ and assist them on their journey toward authentic discipleship. Here at Southside, we have a variety of small groups to meet these needs, and new groups are being formed as the call to full discipleship demands them. If you are interested in participating in a small group experience, or if you would simply like more information about Southside's small groups contact
