Centering Your Week and Your Life in Christ

Wednesdays 5:00 to 6:45 p.m.
Maguire Fellowship Center

Sometimes the pressures of living the Christian life from Sunday to Sunday can be overwhelming. On Sundays through worship we catch a glimpse of who we really are in Christ - a Kingdom Community in the world but not of it. But by midweek the pressures and problems of life lived in a world where God is not king and Jesus is not Lord can overwhelm us, drag us down, and make us forget who we really are and what we're really about. Most of us by midweek find that we need to take time out to re-focus, re-center, and renew our purpose and vision as people of the Kingdom. That's what CenterPoint is all about. We gather as a church in the center of the week to center our week and our lives in Christ. At Southside we call it CenterPoint.

Supper - 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.: Get to know church members in a relaxed atmosphere around the table each Wednesday evening beginning at 5 p.m. It is an informal time of food, fellowship, and fun so people are welcome to come any time before 6 p.m. to enjoy supper.

Programs - 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.: After supper programs begin at 6 p.m. with a time of celebration of the life of the Southside as the pastoral staff leads the community sharing time as birthdays and anniversaries are recognized, new members are introduced, and guests are welcomed. Students in 7th-12th grade have a time of worship called füsion held in the k2 Student Center on the 3rd floor. Children head to their music and missions programs. Adults remain for a time for congregational sharing and intercessory prayer. Special studies for adults (Institute for Christian Formation) then follow from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Courses are offered free of charge and cover a wide range of subjects including books studies (C. S. Lewis' Mere Christianity), studies of biblical books (the Gospel of Mark, Paul's Letter to the Colossians, the Book of Revelation, etc.), and special studies (How to be a Contagious Christian, the 28-week small group experience Companions in Christ, and Richard Foster's Celebration of Discipline to name a few). Sanctuary Choir rehearsal begins at 7:00 p.m.

Reservations for dinner are needed by Monday of each week. Cost is $5 for adults (12 & over). Children (2-11) is $3.00. Family (same household) is $17.00 maximum. We welcome standing reservations.  To place a reservation, contact us here.
